What does this fault code mean?
The steering angle sensor checks its own internal components. The code is set when it detects that one of them is not working, which is caused by an internal fault in the sensor.
Possible causes
- Internal malfunction within the steering angle sensor (SAS).
What you can do
- 1Switch off the ignition, wait a while and start the engine. Check whether the code is still stored, clear it and test drive the car.
- 2If the fault is permanent, the steering angle sensor must be replaced. A workshop does this.
- 3The angle sensor is part of the anti-spin and stability system. Have a workshop diagnose and replace it rather than working on the steering wheel yourself.
Symptoms you may notice4
- A yellow warning symbol and text message show in the display
- The anti-spin and anti-skid warning lamp lights up or behaves abnormally
- The anti-spin function does not work
- The stability function does not work
