The left side module confirms that it sits on the proper side of the car. The code is set when the right side module is found in the position of the left side module, which means the two have been mixed up.
Possible causes
- The left and right side control modules are mixed up and installed on the wrong side of the car.
- The right side control module is fitted in the place where the left side module should be.
- Poor contact at the connections, or oxidation.
- The cable harness to the left side control module is damaged.
- The module was earlier fitted to another car and needs resetting.
What you can do
- 1Check that the left and right side sensors are mounted on the correct sides of the car. Also check that the connectors are firmly seated and not corroded.
- 2Check that the wiring to the left side sensor is not damaged.
- 3If the sensor has previously been fitted in another car, have a workshop reset it.
