What does this fault code mean?
The module relies on the CEM for the car's configuration data. The code is set when that data stops arriving. The cause may be loose connections, contact resistance or oxidation at the connections to the CEM, or a fault in the CEM.
Possible causes
- Loose connections, contact resistance or oxidation at the terminals between the left or right side control module and the central electronic module (CEM).
- The fault may lie in the central electronic module (CEM).
What you can do
- 1Check that the connectors between the sensors and the car's network are firmly seated and not corroded.
- 2With a diagnostic tool, read the fault codes in the CEM first, since fault tracing should start there.
- 3If these checks show nothing, have a workshop fault-trace the CEM.
Symptoms you may notice3
- Blind-spot monitoring (BLIS) is not working
- Rear cross-traffic alert (CTA) is not working
- A yellow warning symbol and text message show in the display
