What does this fault code mean?
The left side obstacle detection control module (SODL) checks its internal components and has found a fault in its data memory, where it stores the data it needs to work. The fault is in the control module itself, and if it remains the remedy is to replace the control module.
Possible causes
- Damaged left side obstacle detection control module (SODL)
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the fault code, then road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2If the code comes back, a workshop needs to replace the left side obstacle detection control module (SODL)
- 3After a replacement, the SODL and SODR must each receive new software simultaneously and be calibrated; this is a workshop job
Symptoms you may notice3
- Blind spot warning (BLIS) stops working
- Cross traffic alert (CTA) does not work
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
