What does this fault code mean?
The left side obstacle detection control module (SODL) checks its internal components and has found a fault in the memory that holds calibration and parameter data. The fault is in the control module itself, and if it remains the control module must be replaced.
Possible causes
- Damaged left side obstacle detection control module (SODL)
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the fault code, then road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2If the code comes back, a workshop must replace the left side obstacle detection control module (SODL)
- 3After replacing the SODL, both the SODL and SODR must receive new software and be calibrated; this is a workshop job
Symptoms you may notice3
- Blind spot warning (BLIS) stops working
- Cross traffic alert (CTA) does not work
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
