What does this fault code mean?
The left side obstacle detection control module (SODL) checks its internal components and has found a fault in the watchdog, the monitoring that makes sure the program runs as it should, or in the safety microprocessor. The cause may be missing or incorrect software in the SODL or SODR, or a damaged control module.
Possible causes
- Software missing or incorrect in the SODL or SODR
- Damaged left (SODL) or right (SODR) side obstacle detection control module
What you can do
- 1Read the fault code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop load new software into the SODL and SODR at the same time, since the fault may be caused by missing or incorrect software
- 3If the fault comes back after reloading, a workshop must replace the SODL and calibrate it after the replacement
Symptoms you may notice3
- Blind spot warning (BLIS) stops working
- Cross traffic alert (CTA) does not work
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
