What does this fault code mean?
The right side obstacle detection control module (SODR) monitors the temperature of its own internal sensor. When the control module overheats it switches off temporarily, which can be caused by high ambient temperature or too high an internal temperature in the control module. It switches back on by itself once the temperature has returned to normal.
Possible causes
- Ambient temperature too high
- Internal temperature in the control module too high
What you can do
- 1Let the car cool down, then check whether the blind spot and cross traffic systems work again
- 2Clear the fault code and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 3If the fault returns when the control module is cool, have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice3
- Blind spot warning (BLIS) stops working
- Cross traffic alert (CTA) does not work
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
