What does this fault code mean?
The right side obstacle detection control module (SODR) keeps up a continuous link with SAS (the steering wheel angle sensor). The code is set when that link is disturbed or missing, and the blind spot and cross traffic systems can then be affected.
Possible causes
- Fault in the control module that should send the information (the sending control module)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact; their locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 2Read the fault codes in the central electronic module (CEM) and see which network the codes for missing communication refer to
- 3Have a workshop fault-trace the communication between the steering wheel angle sensor (SAS) and the CEM
- 4Do not work on the steering angle sensor or its wiring yourself; have a workshop do it
Symptoms you may notice3
- Blind spot warning (BLIS) stops working
- Cross traffic alert (CTA) does not work
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
