What does this fault code mean?
This code is an information code and does not point to a fault in the SODR where it is shown. It is set when reverse gear is engaged while the car is travelling faster than a certain limit, and an irregularity then appears in the data sent by the engine control module (ECM). The fault therefore lies in the engine control module.
Possible causes
- Fault in the engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the engine control module (ECM) and sort out any faults there first
- 2Have a workshop fault-trace the engine control module (ECM), since this code is a follow-on from a fault there
- 3Clear this code only after the root fault has been fixed and its code has been cleared
Symptoms you may notice3
- Blind spot warning (BLIS) stops working
- Cross traffic alert (CTA) does not work
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
