Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
6 modelsS60 (2011–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), XC60 (2009–)
What does this fault code mean?
This code is an information code and does not point to a fault in the SODR where it is shown. It is set when the brake control module (BCM) reports a lower quality for the information it sends than the SODR accepts. The fault therefore lies in the brake control module.
Possible causes
- Fault in the brake control module (BCM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the brake control module (BCM) and sort out any faults there first
- 2Have a workshop fault-trace the brake control module (BCM), since this code is a follow-on from it
- 3Erase the code only once the root fault is fixed and its own code has been cleared
- 4Do not work on the brake system or the brake control module yourself; a workshop must do this
Symptoms you may notice3
- Blind spot warning (BLIS) stops working
- Cross traffic alert (CTA) does not work
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
