Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
6 modelsS60 (2011–), V40 (2013–), V40 Cross Country (2013–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), XC60 (2009–)
What does this fault code mean?
This code is an information code and does not point to a fault in the SODR where it is shown. It is set when the steering wheel angle sensor (SAS) sends information of lower quality than the SODR accepts. The fault therefore lies in the steering wheel angle sensor.
Possible causes
- Fault in the steering wheel angle sensor (SAS)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the steering wheel angle sensor (SAS) and sort out any faults there first
- 2Have a workshop fault-trace the SAS, since this code is only a follow-on from it
- 3Erase the code only once the root fault is fixed and its own code has been cleared
- 4Do not work on the steering or the steering wheel angle sensor yourself; have a workshop do it
Symptoms you may notice3
- Blind spot warning (BLIS) stops working
- Cross traffic alert (CTA) does not work
- Yellow warning symbol and message in the display
