What does this fault code mean?
SODR continuously receives information from SODL over the CAN communication. The code is set when a communication problem occurs on the local CAN between SODL and SODR. The code gives no noticeable symptoms for the driver.
Possible causes
- Poor contact, contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Open circuit, or short to supply voltage or to ground, on the local CAN bus
- Open circuit in the connections
What you can do
- 1Check the connections between the SODL and SODR for poor contact, contact resistance and oxidation
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the wires on the local CAN between SODL and SODR have no open circuit or short to ground or voltage; disconnect the battery negative lead first
- 3Clear the fault code and road test the car to see whether it comes back
