What does this fault code mean?
The SRS receives no CAN signals from the central electronic module (CEM) about the status of the PAD lamp. The fault may lie in the CAN network or in the CEM.
Possible causes
- Fault on the CAN network, such as an open circuit or short circuit in the CAN wires
- Damaged central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Clear the fault codes and road test the car to see whether they return
- 2Have a workshop check the CAN network for open and short circuits; if nothing is found there, the CEM is fault-traced further
- 3The airbag system is a workshop job; do not touch its wiring yourself
