What does this fault code mean?
The fault code is intermittent, meaning it comes and goes. The SRS module sets the code when the voltage in the circuit to the left inflatable curtain is too high for a longer period. The fault is a short-circuit to voltage supply, either in the igniter wire or connectors between the SRS module and the curtain, or in the curtain itself.
Possible causes
- Short-circuit to the power supply in the igniter cable or the connectors linking the curtain to the SRS module
- Short-circuit to the power supply in the inflatable curtain
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors at the SRS module and at the inflatable curtain for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Have a workshop handle both the check and any repairs, as this is airbag system work
