What does this fault code mean?
The fault code is intermittent, meaning it comes and goes. The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) registers that the signal in the circuit to the left inflatable curtain is too low. The fault is a short-circuit to ground, either in the igniter wire or connectors between the SRS module and the curtain, or in the curtain itself.
Possible causes
- Short-circuit to ground in the igniter cable or the connectors linking the curtain to the SRS module
- Short-circuit to ground in the inflatable curtain
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors at the SRS module and at the inflatable curtain for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Leave work on the airbag system to a workshop; the check and any repairs are not for the owner to do
