What does this fault code mean?
The fault code is intermittent, meaning it comes and goes. It concerns the left inflatable curtain, where the resistance in the circuit is too high for a longer period. The fault is an open circuit in the igniter wire or connectors between the curtain and the SRS module, or an open circuit in the curtain itself.
Possible causes
- Break in the igniter cable or the connectors between the left curtain and the SRS module
- Open circuit in the inflatable curtain, giving too high resistance in the igniter
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check that the connector terminals are not damaged or pressed back, and check the connectors at the SRS module and the curtain for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Leave work on the airbag system to a workshop; the check and any repairs are not for the owner to do
