What does this fault code mean?
The fault code is intermittent, meaning it comes and goes. The SRS module has found an airbag or seat belt tensioner fitted, or a side airbag fitted, although it is programmed to show that these should not be present. The module has also recorded an earlier fault that is no longer there. The code shown varies with the circuit where the fault sits.
Possible causes
- The SRS module finds an airbag or seat belt tensioner fitted, although it is programmed to show that neither should be fitted
- The SRS module finds a side impact protection (SIPS) bag fitted, although it is programmed to show that no SIPS bag is fitted
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the module's programming against the airbags and seat belt tensioners that are fitted
- 3Have a workshop handle both the check and any repairs, as this is airbag system work
