What does this fault code mean?
The fault code is a configuration fault for the passenger airbag, stage 2. The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) has identified that the airbag is fitted, although the module is programmed to show that it should not be. Fault-tracing starts by checking whether code SRS-012B is also stored.
Possible causes
- The SRS module identifies that the passenger airbag, stage 2, is fitted, although the module is programmed to show that it should not be fitted
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2If code SRS-012B is also stored, have a workshop start with that code
- 3Have a workshop check whether the passenger airbag, stage 2, is fitted or disconnected, and that the correct module is fitted in the car
- 4If no other fault is found, the workshop should replace the SRS module
- 5Do not touch the airbag system's wiring yourself; a workshop should carry out the check and repairs
Symptoms you may notice2
- SRS warning lamp lit
- An SRS warning message is shown in the display
