What does this fault code mean?
The fault code is intermittent, meaning it comes and goes. It concerns the front right side airbag, where the voltage in the circuit is too high for a longer period. The fault is a short-circuit to voltage supply, either in the igniter wire or connectors between the airbag and the SRS module, or in the side airbag itself.
Possible causes
- Short-circuit to the power supply in the igniter cable or the connectors linking the right front side airbag to the SRS module
- A short to the power supply inside the right front side airbag
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors at the SRS module and at the front right side airbag for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the check and any repairs
Symptoms you may notice1
- SRS warning lamp lit
