Volvo models this fault code applies to
This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The fault code is intermittent, meaning it comes and goes. It concerns the front right side airbag, where the capacitance in the circuit is too high for a longer period. The cause lies in the built-in capacitor in the igniter connector, which either has too high capacitance or is short-circuited.
Possible causes
- Capacitance too high in the built-in capacitor in the igniter connector
- Short circuit in the built-in capacitor in the igniter connector
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors at the SRS module and at the front right side airbag for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Leave work on the airbag system to a workshop; the check and any repairs are not for the owner to do
Symptoms you may notice1
- SRS warning lamp lit
