What does this fault code mean?
The fault code is intermittent, meaning it comes and goes. It concerns the front right side airbag. The SRS module has found an airbag, seat belt tensioner or side airbag fitted, although it is programmed to show that these should not be present. The module has also recorded an earlier fault that is no longer there. The code shown varies with the circuit where the fault sits.
Possible causes
- The SRS module identifies an airbag or seat belt tensioner that is fitted, although it is programmed to show that neither should be fitted there
- The SRS module identifies a side impact protection (SIPS) bag that is fitted, although it is programmed to show that no SIPS bag should be fitted
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check that the module's setting matches the airbags, seat belt tensioners and side airbags fitted in the car
- 3Have a workshop handle both the check and any repairs, as this is airbag system work
