What does this fault code mean?
The fault code relates to the signal from the passenger's adaptive seat belt force limiter. The SRS module sets the code when the cable resistance stays too high for a longer period. The fault is an open circuit or poor contact resistance in the cable or connectors, or an open circuit in the force limiter itself.
Possible causes
- Open circuit or poor contact resistance in the ignition cable or connectors between the SRS module and the passenger's adaptive seat belt force limiter
- Open circuit in the passenger's adaptive seat belt force limiter, giving too high resistance in the igniter
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors to the adaptive force limiter and to the SRS module for contact resistance, oxidation and loose connections
- 3The force limiter is built into the belt tensioner unit, so both are replaced together; this is a workshop job
- 4Do not touch the airbag system's wiring yourself; a workshop should carry out the check and repairs
Symptoms you may notice2

- An SRS warning message is shown in the display
