What does this fault code mean?
The SRS module has for a longer period registered a resistance that is too low in the ignition cable to the front left side impact airbag. This is caused by a short-circuit between the ignition cables or in the side airbag itself.
Possible causes
- Short-circuit between the two ignition cables or in the connectors between the SRS module and the front left side impact airbag
- A short-circuit inside the front left side impact airbag, where the igniter section reads too low a resistance
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, and test drive to see if it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the cable and connector under the front left seat for a short-circuit between the two cables
- 3The workshop decides whether the side airbag itself needs replacing
- 4The airbag system should not be handled on your own; have a workshop carry out the fault-finding
Symptoms you may notice2
- The SRS warning lamp lights
- An SRS warning message is shown
