What does this fault code mean?
The SRS module has for a longer period registered a resistance that is too high in the ignition cable to the front left side impact airbag. This may be due to an open-circuit or poor contact in the cable or connectors, or an open-circuit in the side airbag.
Possible causes
- Open-circuit or contact resistance in the ignition cable or connectors between the SRS module and the front left side impact airbag
- The front left side impact airbag has an open-circuit, so its igniter section reads too high a resistance
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, and test drive to see if it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the connector under the front left seat, the seat belt tensioner and the module connectors for poor contact, oxidation and looseness
- 3Have a workshop check the ignition cable for an open-circuit and decide whether the side airbag needs replacing
- 4The side airbag should only be repaired by a workshop; do not take any measurements yourself
Symptoms you may notice2
- The SRS warning lamp lights
- An SRS warning message is shown
