What does this fault code mean?
The ignition cable to the front left side impact airbag has for a longer period been short-circuited to a nearby ignition cable from another restraint component. The fault requires at least two restraint systems to have short-circuits to each other.
Possible causes
- Short-circuit between the left front side airbag's cable and another restraint component's ignition cable, such as a curtain or belt tensioner
- Cables from at least two restraint systems must be shorted to each other to produce this fault, so check which ones are involved
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, and test drive to see if it returns
- 2Have the workshop start with the ignition cable that runs the longest distance alongside the side airbag's cable
- 3Read out whether the curtain, belt tensioner or airbags also have faults, since the short-circuit may involve several
- 4The airbag system is workshop work, so have a workshop carry out the check
Symptoms you may notice2
- The SRS warning lamp lights
- An SRS warning message is shown
