What does this fault code mean?
The SRS module has for a longer period measured a resistance that is too low in the ignition cable to the front right side impact airbag. This is caused by a short-circuit between the ignition cables or in the connectors, or a short-circuit in the side airbag itself.
Possible causes
- Short-circuit between the two ignition cables or in the connectors between the SRS module and the front right side impact airbag
- The front right side impact airbag is short-circuited inside, so its igniter section has too low a resistance
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, and test drive to see if it returns
- 2Have a workshop check whether the two ignition cables are short-circuited to each other in the connector under the right front seat
- 3The workshop decides whether the side airbag needs replacing
- 4The restraint system is workshop work; do not carry out any measurements yourself
Symptoms you may notice2
- The SRS warning lamp lights
- An SRS warning message is shown
