What does this fault code mean?
The resistance in the ignition cable to the front right side impact airbag has been too high for a longer period. The cause may be an open-circuit or contact resistance in the cable or connectors, or an open-circuit in the side airbag itself.
Possible causes
- Open-circuit or contact resistance in the ignition cable or connectors between the SRS module and the front right side impact airbag
- The front right side impact airbag has an open-circuit, so its igniter section reads too high a resistance
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, and test drive to see if it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the connector under the front right seat, the belt tensioner connector and the module connectors for oxidation and looseness
- 3The workshop checks the ignition cable for an open-circuit and decides whether the side airbag itself needs replacing
- 4Do not check the restraint system yourself; it is a workshop task
Symptoms you may notice2
- The SRS warning lamp lights
- An SRS warning message is shown
