What does this fault code mean?
This fault is intermittent, meaning it comes and goes. The SRS module has registered a voltage that is too low in the circuit to the front left seat belt tensioner. The possible causes are a short-circuit to ground in the connector, in the signal wire to the module, or in the tensioner itself.
Possible causes
- Short-circuit to ground in the connector
- Short-circuit to ground in the signal wire between the tensioner and the SRS module
- Short-circuit to ground in the seat belt tensioner itself
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, and test drive to see if it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors at the tensioner and at the module for oxidation and contact resistance
- 3Have a workshop check the signal wire between the module and the tensioner for a short-circuit to ground
- 4The restraint system belongs in a workshop; do not make any electrical changes yourself
Symptoms you may notice1
- The SRS warning lamp is lit
