Volvo models this fault code applies to
This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
This fault is intermittent, meaning it comes and goes. The SRS module has for a while registered a capacitance that is too high in the circuit to the front left seat belt tensioner. The cause lies in the connector or in the signal wire between the tensioner and the module.
Possible causes
- Capacitance too high in the connector to the seat belt tensioner
- The signal cable running from the tensioner to the SRS module carries too high a capacitance
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, and test drive to see if it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors at the tensioner and the module for oxidation and poor contact
- 3The workshop checks the wire from the module to the tensioner's connector
- 4The restraint system belongs to the workshop; do not make any electrical changes yourself
Symptoms you may notice1
- The SRS warning lamp is lit
