Volvo models this fault code applies to
This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
This fault is intermittent, meaning it comes and goes. The capacitance in the circuit to the front left seat belt tensioner has been too low for a while. The cause may be the connector or the signal wire to the module.
Possible causes
- Capacitance too low in the connector to the seat belt tensioner
- The signal cable from the tensioner to the SRS module carries too low a capacitance
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, and test drive to see if it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors between the module and the tensioner for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Have a workshop check the signal wire for intermittent open-circuits
- 4Making any changes to the tensioner wiring is a workshop task; do not do it yourself
Symptoms you may notice1
- The SRS warning lamp is lit
