Volvo models this fault code applies to
This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
This fault is intermittent, meaning it comes and goes. The SRS module has for a while measured a resistance that is too low in the circuit to the front left seat belt tensioner. The cause is a short-circuit in the connector or signal wire, or in the tensioner itself.
Possible causes
- Short-circuit in the connector or signal wire to the tensioner, toward the SRS module
- Short-circuit in the tensioner itself, where the igniter section has too low a resistance
What you can do
- 1Read out and note the fault code, clear it, and test drive to see if it returns
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors between the module and the tensioner for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Have a workshop check the signal wire for an intermittent short-circuit to ground
- 4The restraint system is workshop work; do not make any electrical changes yourself
Symptoms you may notice1
- The SRS warning lamp lights
