What does this fault code mean?
The code applies to the front right seat belt tensioner. The SRS control module reacts when the resistance in the wiring circuit stays too high for a while. The fault is intermittent, so it comes and goes.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance, or an open circuit in the wire to the tensioner from the SRS control module
- An open circuit inside the tensioner, giving too high resistance in the igniter
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors at both the control module and the tensioner for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Have a workshop look for a temporary open circuit in the signal wire to the tensioner, and repair what is found
- 4Do not work on the airbag system or the seat belt tensioners yourself; leave the checks to a workshop
