What does this fault code mean?
The fault applies to the rear left seat belt tensioner and is intermittent, so it does not always show. The code is set when the capacitance in the circuit has been too low for a while.
Possible causes
- The connector gives too low capacitance
- The signal wire to the rear left tensioner gives too low capacitance
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop inspect the connectors at both ends for oxidation and contact resistance
- 3Have a workshop look for an intermittent open circuit in the signal wire, and repair what is found
- 4Have a workshop check the built-in capacitor in the tensioner connector by measuring resistance
- 5Do not work on the airbag system or the seat belt tensioners yourself; leave the checks to a workshop
