What does this fault code mean?
The fault applies to the rear left seat belt tensioner and is intermittent. The resistance in the wiring circuit is too low for a while, which can come from a short circuit in the connector, in the signal wire or in the tensioner itself.
Possible causes
- Short circuit in the connector at the tensioner
- Short circuit in the signal wire between the SRS control module and the tensioner
- Short circuit in the tensioner, giving too low resistance in the igniter
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check that the connectors sit firmly and are free from oxidation
- 3Have a workshop check the signal wire for an intermittent short to ground, and repair what is found
- 4Do not work on the airbag system or the seat belt tensioners yourself; leave the checks to a workshop
