What does this fault code mean?
This code applies to the centre rear seat belt tensioner. The fault is intermittent. The SRS control module reacts when the voltage in the wiring circuit stays too high for a while.
Possible causes
- The connector is shorted to supply voltage
- The signal wire between the centre rear tensioner and the SRS control module is shorted to supply voltage
- The centre rear tensioner itself is shorted to supply voltage
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors at both ends for oxidation and contact resistance
- 3Have a workshop look for an intermittent short to supply voltage in the signal wire to the centre rear tensioner, and repair what is found
- 4Do not work on the airbag system or the seat belt tensioners yourself; leave the checks to a workshop
