Volvo models this fault code applies to
This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The fault applies to the centre rear seat belt tensioner and is intermittent. The capacitance in the circuit is too low for a while, so the fault may come and go.
Possible causes
- The connector has too low capacitance
- The signal wire to the centre rear tensioner has too low capacitance
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors at the control module and the centre rear tensioner for oxidation
- 3Have a workshop check the signal wire for temporary open circuits, and repair what is found
- 4Have a workshop measure the resistance of the built-in capacitor in the tensioner connector
- 5Do not work on the airbag system or the seat belt tensioners yourself; leave the checks to a workshop
