What does this fault code mean?
The fault applies to the centre rear seat belt tensioner and is intermittent. The resistance in the wiring circuit is too high for a while, which can come from contact resistance in the wire or a break in the tensioner.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance, or a break in the wire between the centre rear tensioner and the SRS control module
- A break in the centre rear tensioner, which raises the igniter resistance
What you can do
- 1Read off the fault code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop look at the connectors between the control module and the centre rear tensioner for contact resistance
- 3Have a workshop look for a temporary break in the wire to the centre rear tensioner, and repair what is found
- 4Do not work on the airbag system or the seat belt tensioners yourself; leave the checks to a workshop
