The airbag control module has registered a seat belt tensioner in the centre rear seat, even though the module is programmed for no such tensioner to be fitted. Possible causes
- The supplemental restraint system (SRS) control module registers a seat belt tensioner in the centre rear seat, even though it is programmed without one
- The control module is not configured for the seat belt tensioner in the centre rear seat, although it should be
What you can do
- 1Check whether the car should have a seat belt tensioner in the centre rear seat, and whether one is connected although it should not be
- 2Have a workshop check that the cable from the seat belt tensioner is correctly connected to the airbag control module
- 3Have a workshop check oxidation and loose contacts in the connector at the control module and in the connector at the seat belt tensioner
- 4Have a workshop check that the car's physical equipment matches the control module's programming; the module may need reconfiguring, or replacing if nothing else is found
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
