What does this fault code mean?
The signal in the circuit to the rear right seat belt tensioner has been too low for a period, which suggests a short circuit to ground. The fault is stored as intermittent, so it has occurred at some point but may not be present now. The cause can be in the connector, in the signal wire to the SRS control module or in the seat belt tensioner.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to ground in the connector
- Short circuit to ground in the signal cable running to the SRS control module
- Short circuit to ground in the seat belt tensioner
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check that the connector to the rear right seat belt tensioner is fully engaged and not oxidised
- 2Have a workshop check the connector at the airbag control module for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Have a workshop check chafed wires or pinch damage between the control module and the seat belt tensioner
- 4Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the wire for an intermittent short circuit to ground
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
