What does this fault code mean?
At some point the airbag control module has registered a seat belt tensioner in the rear right seat, even though it is programmed for no such tensioner to be fitted. The fault is no longer present, but the code is stored as intermittent, meaning it comes and goes. The code can be set again if the registration recurs.
Possible causes
- The supplemental restraint system (SRS) control module picks up a fitted seat belt tensioner, even though its programming says there should be none
What you can do
- 1Check whether the car should have a seat belt tensioner in the rear right seat, and whether one is connected although it should not be
- 2Think about whether anything has recently been replaced or fitted in the airbag system
- 3Clear the code and road test the car; if the code does not come back, no further action is needed
- 4If the code returns, have a workshop check the control module's programming against the car's equipment
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice1
- The general orange warning lamp is on
