What does this fault code mean?
The resistance in the wiring circuit to the right SIPS side airbag has been too high for a period, which suggests an open circuit in the wiring, contact resistance or oxidation. The fault is intermittent, meaning it has occurred at some point but may not be present now. The side airbag itself may also be faulty.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the wiring circuit
- Faulty SIPS side airbag
- Contact resistance or oxidation
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check that the connector to the side airbag is fully engaged and not oxidised
- 2Have a workshop check breaks, chafing and pinch damage in the wiring to the right side airbag
- 3If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the wiring and the side airbag
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
