What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module has registered that a side impact airbag (SIPS) is fitted, even though it is programmed without one. Normally this code should not be set, because the connectors are coded so that they cannot be connected wrongly. The code therefore means that what the module registers does not match its programming.
Possible causes
- The control module registers that a SIPS side airbag is installed, even though it is programmed without one
What you can do
- 1Check whether a side impact airbag (SIPS) is fitted in the car where it should not be
- 2Think about whether anything has recently been replaced or fitted in the airbag system
- 3Have a workshop check the control module's serial number against the car; if it does not match, the module must be replaced
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice1
- The SRS warning lamp is on
