Volvo models this fault code applies to
This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The capacitance in the signal wire to the seat belt tensioner on the left side of the third seat row has been too high for a longer period. Capacitance is the circuit's ability to store electrical charge. The cause is in the connector or in the signal wire to the airbag control module.
Possible causes
- Capacitance too high in the connector
- Capacitance too high in the signal cable running to the SRS control module
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check that the connector at the seat belt tensioner on the left side of the third row is fully engaged and not oxidised
- 2Have a workshop check damage and chafing on the wire between the tensioner and the control module
- 3If the code changes from permanent to intermittent, the seat belt tensioner may be faulty; have a workshop try a new one
- 4Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the wiring if the fault remains
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
