Volvo models this fault code applies to
This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:
5 modelsS60 (2001–2009), S80 (1999–2006), V70 (2000–2008), V70 XC / XC70 (2001–2007), XC90 (2003–)
What does this fault code mean?
The capacitance in the signal wire to the seat belt tensioner on the left side of the third seat row has been too low for a longer period. Capacitance is the circuit's ability to store electrical charge. The probable cause is a defective connector part closest to the seat belt tensioner, and the code can also give a general warning lamp.
Possible causes
- Capacitance too low in the connector
- Capacitance too low in the signal cable running to the SRS control module
- Defective connector part closest to the seat belt tensioner on the left side of the third seat row
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check that the connector part closest to the seat belt tensioner on the left side of the third seat row is fully engaged and undamaged
- 2Have a workshop check damage on the wire between the seat belt tensioner and the control module
- 3The probable cause is a defective connector part closest to the tensioner; have a workshop replace the wiring to the tensioner
- 4If the fault remains after that, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the circuit
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice1
- The general warning lamp is on
