What does this fault code mean?
The resistance in the signal wire to the seat belt tensioner on the left side of the third seat row has been too low for a longer period, which suggests a short circuit. The cause can be in the connector, in the wire or in the tensioner. The code can also give a general warning lamp.
Possible causes
- Short circuit in the connector
- Short circuit in the signal cable running from the tensioner to the SRS control module
- Short circuit in the tensioner, with resistance too low in the igniter
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check the connector at the tensioner on the left side of the third seat row: it should be fully engaged and undamaged
- 2Have a workshop check chafing and crush damage on the wire between the tensioner and the control module
- 3If the code changes from permanent to intermittent, the tensioner may be faulty; have a workshop try a new one
- 4Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the wire for a short circuit if the fault remains
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
