What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module has registered that the passenger seat belt buckle is fitted, even though its programming says there should be none. The code indicates a configuration fault, either in the module or in the car's equipment. The fault gives an information lamp and an SRS warning message.
Possible causes
- The control module identifies a passenger seat belt buckle as fitted, although it is programmed for none to be there
What you can do
- 1Think about whether anything on the passenger side has recently been changed, such as the belt or an airbag
- 2Check whether a passenger buckle is fitted that the control module is not programmed for
- 3Check that the correct airbag control module is fitted in the car; if it does not suit the car it may need replacing, which a workshop does
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the configuration with diagnostic equipment
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice2
- The information lamp is on
- An SRS warning message is displayed
