What does this fault code mean?
The signal in the wire to the seat belt tensioner on the right side of the third seat row has been too low for a longer period, which suggests a short circuit to ground. The cause can be in the connector, in the lead to the control module or in the tensioner. The code gives a general warning lamp.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to ground in the lead running from the tensioner to the SRS control module
- Short circuit to ground in the connector
- Short circuit to ground in the tensioner
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check the connector at the right tensioner in the third row: it should be fully engaged, undamaged and clean
- 2Look for chafing and crush damage on the lead between the tensioner and the control module
- 3If the code changes from permanent to intermittent, the tensioner may be faulty; have a workshop try a new one
- 4Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the lead for a short circuit to ground if the fault remains
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
