What does this fault code mean?
The airbag control module has registered a seat belt tensioner on the right side of the third seat row, even though it is programmed without one. Which code is shown depends on the wiring circuit affected, for example SRS-0096. The code gives a general warning lamp.
Possible causes
- The control module registers a seat belt tensioner on the right side of the third row, although it is programmed without one
What you can do
- 1Check whether the car has five seats; if it is a five-seat model, no seat belt tensioner should be connected on the right side of the third row
- 2Think about whether anything has recently been changed or fitted in the third row or in the airbag system
- 3If no fault is found in the connector, the control module may need replacing, which only a workshop should do
- 4Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice1
- The general warning lamp is on
