What does this fault code mean?
The voltage in the signal wire to the rear left inflatable curtain has been too high for a longer period, which suggests a short circuit to voltage. The cause may be in the igniter cable, in the connector or in the curtain itself. The fault lights the SRS warning lamp.
Possible causes
- Short circuit to voltage in the igniter cable or in the connector between the curtain and the SRS control module
- Short circuit to voltage in the inflatable curtain
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check that the connector to the rear left curtain is fully engaged and not oxidised
- 2Have a workshop check chafed or pinched sections on the wire to the curtain
- 3If the code changes from permanent to intermittent, the curtain may be faulty; have a workshop try a new one
- 4Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the wire for a short circuit to voltage if the fault remains
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
