What does this fault code mean?
The capacitance in the signal wire to the rear left inflatable curtain has been too high for a longer period. Capacitance is the circuit's ability to store electrical charge. The cause is either too high capacitance or a short circuit in the built-in capacitor in the connector to the igniter cable.
Possible causes
- Capacitance too high
- Short circuit in the built-in capacitor in the connector to the igniter cable
What you can do
- 1Have a workshop check that the connector to the rear left curtain is fully engaged and not oxidised
- 2Have a workshop check damage on the connector to the igniter cable, where the built-in capacitor sits
- 3If the code changes from permanent to intermittent, the curtain may be faulty; have a workshop try a new one
- 4Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment measure the capacitor in the connector if the fault remains
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
